This project starts with a process-oriented function “rake” making marks on soil, as a starting point for developing a culture’s architecture. It ideas of ritual, land art, material interaction, and perhaps a form of “writing” on the landscape.
Building evolved into a ritualistic extension of the rake’s action, a continuous inscription on both the land and its materials. The impermanent shapes left in the soil were 3D-scanned, then precisely CNC-milled into beech, transforming these initial temporary marks into more tangible architectural explorations.
The project’s methodology spanned 3D-printing, CNC-milling, wood-joinery, and hand-carving.
